Thank you for your interest in the GSMA Connected Society Innovation Fund for Rural Connectivity. Before submitting your Expression of Interest, please check your eligibility on the Connected Society Innovation Fund Terms and Conditions (also referred to as the CS Fund Term Sheet) which can be downloaded from the bottom of this page.
The GSMA Connected Society programme works with the mobile industry and key stakeholders to increase access to and adoption of the mobile internet, focusing on under-served population groups in developing markets.
The Connected Society Innovation Fund for Rural Connectivity (‘the Fund’) aims to support innovative mobile internet connectivity solutions for unconnected rural communities. Funded projects will test innovations that overcome the barriers currently preventing mobile network operators (MNOs) from deploying mobile internet coverage in rural areas. They will also demonstrate commercially sustainable models that can be scaled and/or replicated in similar environments.
This Fund is looking to support solutions in Ghana or Uganda. Solutions must be able to connect with the core network of one of the Mobile Network Operator (MNO) partners working with the GSMA in these countries. At the bottom of this page you will find a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) which we request you to complete and sign with your Expression of Interest. This will enable us to release additional information relevant to your application, should you be invited to submit a full proposal at the next stage. The full Expression of Interest form is available to view as a pdf which you can download from the bottom of this page. This is for view only - you should complete your Expression of Interest online by following the links from this page. We have provided answers to Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) which can be downloaded at the bottom of this page, along with the CS Fund Term Sheet. If you have any outstanding questions that are not addressed by these documents, please email CSfundmanager@gsma.com.
This portal will close at 18.00 BST (GMT+1) on Wednesday 17 October.
